Grade 6 and 7 students showcased their creativity with their WonderCoaster projects. School winners will advance to compete at Wonderland on May 8, joining teams from across the province
Students from AMS Calgary visited AES on April 22 for a day of connection and friendly competition. The visit began with AMS students attending an AES assembly, followed by a series of engaging activities with AES students. Highlights included a spirited soccer match between boys from both schools, with enthusiastic support from cheering spectators, a badminton game featuring AMS girls, and an exciting tug-of-war between AES Grades 7/8 and AMS students
Grade 6 students brought their French learning to life with a restaurant-themed project, where they created menus in French and prepared a variety of treats to share. They proudly presented their “restaurants” to classmates and staff, showcasing both their language skills and creativity

Students in Grades 2, 3, and 4 had a fantastic time visiting Air Riderz, where they enjoyed active fun and team-building on trampolines and climbing walls
Grades 5 and 6 went on an immersive historical adventure to Medieval Times in Toronto. Students enjoyed a delicious lunch while watching live jousting and sword-fighting displays performed by skilled knights—an unforgettable experience!
Additionally, our Grade 5 students visited the Safety Village, where they learned valuable lessons about safety in a fun, interactive environment designed just for kids
Guest judges, including engineers and graphic designers, helped evaluate the WonderCoaster STEM projects created by our Grade 7 and 8 students. The top winners will present and compete at Wonderland. Congratulations to the Grade 8 group for winning first place in the “Most Exciting to Ride” category, and to the Grade 7 group for earning second place in the “Aesthetic” category. A special thank-you to Chairman Sahib for beginning an Arduino coding project with our Grade 7 students
Grade 2 students participated in a fun and educational science experiment on buoyancy, where they built paper boats and tested how many objects each could hold before sinking. This hands-on activity helped them explore the science behind floating and sinking, while also encouraging problem-solving and collaboration
The session was part of the AES Career Workshop initiative, which introduces students to various career paths. This particular workshop was led by AES parent Mansoor Ahmed, who connected the experiment to real-world applications in business and data analytics
Our Grade 7 students tackled two hands-on STEM challenges, combining creativity and problem-solving. First, they designed and built birdhouses, ensuring they were safe, functional, and visually appealing by using non-toxic materials and considering size and environmental integration. The birdhouses were also made to withstand outdoor conditions
Next, students applied math skills to design juice box containers that held exactly 200mL, exploring shapes like rectangular and triangular prisms. They considered packaging efficiency and waterproofing, while also creating their own juice brand and logos. These projects highlighted how math and design work together in real-world problem-solving
The Grade 8 class recently engaged in a hands-on STEM activity, where student groups collaborated to design and build water filtration systems. The trip was carefully organized to provide students with a hands-on learning experience, designed to enrich their education. It offered them a unique opportunity to engage in interactive activities, fostering both personal growth and teamwork. The students had a fantastic time, gaining valuable insights and enjoying the experience in a fun and educational environment.
Our school had the privilege of hosting the Terry Fox Run and Fundraiser, an inspiring event that brought our community together. A representative from the Terry Fox Foundation visited to share the story behind the Marathon of Hope, giving students a deeper understanding of Terry Fox’s incredible legacy. Many students participated in the run, showing great enthusiasm and support for this important cause
We are thrilled to share that students in grades 1-4 recently embarked on an exciting field trip to Downey’s Farm! This adventure provided our young learners with a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of agriculture and nature firsthand. The visit was not only educational but also filled with fun, laughter, and memorable experiences
